The American FactFinder site is a good source of information for census data. It is based on the American Community Survey and includes population and demographic information.
National Center for Health Statistics
This is the primary agency for American health statistics. Also available en Espanol. It is the place to go online for U.S. health and vital statistics.
NIH/U.S. National Library of Medicine
The nation's medical library with links to health information, including environmental health and toxicology plus much more
World Health Organization (WHO)
