We are thrilled to announce I-Create as the new library MakerSpace name.

What is a MakerSpace?

Essentially it is a creative hub for students, faculty and staff. A space where everyone can come and work on anything, from personal objects to school projects. A collaborative place where we would like to encourage people to come together from different disciplines to work in partnership on projects.

Think of the space as an area of innovation, creativity and collaboration where you can create anything.

Your only limits are your imagination.

Can I reserve a study room?

All Study Rooms are closed until further notice.

What is the cost to use the I-Create Lab?

There is a fee to use the 3D printers, the laser cutter, CNC router and the large format printer/vinyl cutter.  The amount is calculated based on the size and amount of time it will take to print/cut your job.

Where is the I-Create Lab located?

The I-Create Lab is located on the second floor of the Mary and Jeff Bell Library.

What if I don not know how to use the equipment?

Don’t worry!  Our staff members will help you get started and moving in the right direction.

What file formats do I need?

For 3D printing, please bring in a .STL file.

For laser engraving, an Adobe Illustrator file is preferred, however, a .jpg, .png, or .pdf will work.

For all other equipment, usually a .jpg, .pdf, or .png will do.

I want to 3D print, but I am not sure where to start.  What programs can I design a file in?

We have Inventor and Fusion 360 on some of our computers in the I-Create Lab.  All this software can be used to design a file for 3D printing.  However, we recommend tinkercad.com for beginners.  Looking for a pre-made file?  Check out thingiverse.com

What type of materials can you 3D print?

Our 3D printers print using PLA filament.

Where can I purchase materials?

The filament for the 3D printers will be supplied by the I-Create Lab and you will pay a small fee that will be calculated using the amount of filament used to print your item, along with the length of time of your print.  For all other equipment usage, you must supply your own materials; i.e. wood, glassware, cardboard, mat board.  Also, please be aware that we do not laser cut vinyl or PVC.

How do I schedule a tour of the I-Create Lab?

In order to follow all social distancing practices more effectively, All tours or class meetings in the lab are temporarily suspended.
