The State of New York used federal funds to develop K-12 curriculum resources aligned to the common core. These open educational resources are also free for other states to use.
Strategies for Finding OER in OER Repositories and the Internet
Look for the capability to search by grade level, subject and keywords.
Browse as well as search. You might miss out on appropriate materials if your search is too specific.
You can also try Google searching, but you are likely to find materials that may be free but are not necessarily "open" (i.e. editable, able to be combined with other materials, etc.).
Hint: Google has an advanced search (look under Settings, which appears under the search bar on the results list). You can limit by usage rights to open materials. Try a search for materials that are free to use, share or modify. If you don't find anything, try free to use and share.
Keywords that might help include: activity, intervention, lesson plan. Can you think of others?

SPED 5386: Strategic Reading and Language Project Site
This link takes you to the project page where you can add the links and reviews of open educational resources that you have selected.
To get started:
Click the link for the project site (above). This will take you to the guide, but you won’t be able to edit without logging in.
Scroll all the way to the bottom of the project site and find the “login to LibApps” link. If you haven’t already set up your account, enter your Islander email and login; it will prompt you to create a password. If you’ve already created a password, enter it and log in.
At this point you’ll be in the project site. On the left are tabs that take you to pages in the site. There is a tab for each pillar as well as a “sandbox” where you can play around without interfering with content already on the other pages.
At this point, you’ll add your content by creating boxes and entering links in the boxes. The instructions for how to do both of those things can be found from the links I put in the class guide.
