Welcome! My name is Lisa Louis and I am the Head of Research and Learning for the Bell Library at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. I manage the library's reference and instruction services, function as the liaison to the College of Business, and have led university efforts in the area of open education for the last 2.5 years.
In 2019-2020, I had the great honor of being selected as a fellow in SPARC's Open Education Leadership program. This guide is my capstone project for the program.
I have chosen the topic of faculty communities of practice as a strategy for educating faculty about open educational resources - what they are, how to find them and incorporate them into the classroom, and how to modify or create new ones - and forging faculty champions because I have organized two of these experiences and I am hopeful that this information will help others offer similar programs at their institutions.
