Book topics encountering similar types of stigma, prejudices, or discrimination are divided into different categories. We call these categories our pillars of prejudice. The wide representation of pillars/Books supports the Human Library’s purpose of giving people the opportunity to engage with the broad scope of variety that exists in society.
Topics are categorized according to the 15 Pillars of Prejudice, which includes: addiction, disability, ethnicity, family, gender & sex, health, ideology, lifestyle, mental health, neurodiversity, occupation, religion, sexuality, social status, and victim/survivor.
