HIST 4350 - Narratives of World War II in the Pacific: Project Overview

Project Requirements

  1. We are working with Omeka S a web publishing platform. See https://omeka.org/s/
  • The library hosts multiple digital exhibits on one instance of this platform on its servers. We make the platform available to campus constituents like you to build their own digital exhibits. The Bell Library Exhibits landing page is here: https://library.tamucc.edu/exhibits/s/welcome/page/home
  1. Right now the course site is unpublished. You need to log in to see the site content.
  1. User Privileges:

  • Student users start with Author privileges. If they require more privileges to complete project work, they will be granted those privileges.
  • Authors can search, read, and create items, item sets, media, and site pages. Can only edit or delete content which the user has created. Search and read only privileges for vocabularies and sites. No privileges for modules
  • Students are added as Editors of the HIST4350 site. You will be able to navigate throughout all our exhibit sites and items. You will only be able to edit pages in the HIST4350 site.

Site Pages

  1. We will focus on building pages for individual sub topics and then decide how best to organize them later.
  2. Each student will create a page to populate with research and curated items to illustrate that research.
  3. Students will collaborate to create site-wide pages, for example Home and About.
