Library Resources for Faculty

This Guide contains information regarding library resources and services for faculty at TAMUCC.

Requesting books and other materials

The Mary and Jeff Bell Library strives to collect and provide access to the information resources necessary to support the teaching and research mission of the University. The library provides a large collection of print and online books, journals, and media. We have been adding several large packages of e-books in hopes of reducing the amount of title-by-title selecting necessary.

However, we recognize that we cannot anticipate all the curriculum and research needs. We therefore allocate a certain amount of the collection budget for purchasing books and media not already included in the collection.  In accordance with our Collection Development Policy, if you would like to request a book, video, or other item to be purchased for the library's collection, please use the online Materials Recommendation Form to recommend an item.

Requests received during the summer may not be ordered until the following Fall semester, due to the university's fiscal cycle. If  the item you are requesting is needed more urgently, please indicate that on the Recommendation Form and we will do our best to acquire it by the needed deadline; please understand, however, that spending deadlines are largely out of our control.

If you have questions or concerns about the ordering process, please contact the Director of Resource Management & Discovery at 361-825-2355.

Rush Processing

But I need this now...

Have you ever found a title in the catalog that was marked "In Process"? This means the library has the item, but it hasn’t been made ready for the shelf yet. If you ever need an item that is in process, just let the library know and we can hurry this along for you, typically within 1 business day. For rush processing, email fixit@tamucc.libanswers.com, or contact the Ask Us team.
