Library Resources for Online Students

This guide was created to introduce 100% online students to resources and services available to them at the Mary and Jeff Bell Library.

Welcome to Your (Online) Library!

This image shows two students in the Bell Library's 2nd floor book shelves area.

Welcome to the TAMU-CC (Online) Library Guide! This guide was created to orient our online students to Bell Library's many resources and services. This content will help you to:

  • Access library research databases and online content;
  • Request items the library does not own and access the library's physical resources;
  • Learn how to access library assistance and other services online.

Use the blue menu tabs on the left side to navigate to different parts of the orientation tutorial.

Getting Started: Click on the IslandID and password link to set up your IslandID. You need this to access many library resources and services.

Click on the IslandID Manage Account page to set up your IslandID if needed. Typically activation information about your new IslandID is sent to the email account you used to apply to the University 24-48 hours after being accepted. The email contains the security code needed for activating your IslandID.

Navigating to the Next Page....

Click on the Research Databases & More to find out how to access magazine and journal articles, videos, e-books, and more from the library's website.
