Library Resources for Online Students

This guide was created to introduce 100% online students to resources and services available to them at the Mary and Jeff Bell Library.

Using Quick Search

Use Quick Search to find content from research databases, and all print and online resources the library owns. Quick Search is one of the first things you'll see on the library's website:

This image shows an updated view of Quick Search with an arrow pointing to the search bar for entering your search keywords.

You can try out Quick Search using the box below. You might be prompted to log in with your IslandID.

What about Research Databases?

Sometimes you need to start with a more focused search in only one or two databases that specialize in certain topics, subject areas, or disciplines. The library has 399 different Research Databases.

Getting Started With Databases

Use the Research Databases A-Z List to choose the best database for your needs.

This list links to all 399 databases available from the Bell Library. You can search alphabetically by title, subject, or content type.

This image shows a partial view of the A-Z database page, and shows the subject menu open with the English subject database choice selected.
