Branch, Years Served, & Job in the Military:
Army, 2007-2012, 93M - Bradley Fighting Vehicle Maintainer
Service History:
Out of the 4.5 years-ish, I spent 2 years in Iraq, and the rest was spent training at Fort Hood and other places. Aside from some of the hard times, I loved serving our country and supporting each of the men and women with whom I served. As a Bradley mechanic attached to the infantry, I had to work on anything I came across, which allowed me to make some great friends.
Deployments and/or Activations:
I was part of the 1st Cavalry Division, based out of Fort Hood, and was attached to an infantry unit for most of my time. We spent 2 years in Iraq.
Favorite Military Memory:
One time, after one of our HMMWVs got hit, my team and I worked ceaselessly to get it back in service within 6 hours, in the middle of the night. The vehicle lost its transmission, transfer case, and most of the rear suspension. It was grueling, but fun.
Current Degree Plans & Academic Goals:
I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in the Educational Leadership Department, with plans to graduate in May 2028.
