Branch, Years Served, & Job in the Military:
U.S. Marine Corps, 1994-1997, MOS #7051- Aircraft Rescue Firefighter
Service History:
Right after high school graduation in 1994 I left for the Marine Corps Recruit depot for "boot camp." After graduation I attended Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Pendelton, CA and then Aircraft Rescue Firefighting school in Millington, TN. Post graduation I was stationed at the duty station of El Toro, Tustin, Okinawa, and Corpus Christi before being honorably discharged. Through my experiences in the Marine Corps, I have continued my service as a first responder for my entire adult life. The Marine Corps taught me skills and attributes that have served me very well throughout my career and personal life.
Deployments and/or Activations:
I was very fortunate to have served in peacetime and I was not deployed to any conflicts or war zones. I was stationed at MCAS El Toro, MCAS Tustin, MCAS Futenma (Okinawa, Japan), and NAS Corpus Christi.
Favorite Military Memory:
The fondest memories I have is the camaraderie built and shared with my fellow Marines while going through tough times and training.
Current Degree Plans & Academic Goals:
I graduated from TAMUCC's COHNS with my BSN in May of 2020 and am currently pursuing my MSN as a Nurse Educator with a projected graduation of August 2026.
