U.S. Navy, 2014-2021, Cryptologic Technician

Service History:
I enlisted in the United States Navy on December 1, 2014, out of McAllen, Texas, beginning a journey dedicated to service, discipline, and national defense. I completed basic training at Great Lakes, Illinois, where I built a strong foundation in teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Following boot camp, I attended entry-level cryptologic training at Corry Station in Pensacola, Florida. Graduating at the top of my class, I was selected to attend advanced signals analysis training—an opportunity that allowed me to expand my technical expertise and analytical capabilities in support of Navy intelligence operations. Upon completing advanced training, I was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, where I served with Naval Information Operations Command (NIOC) Hawaii. During my six years of service, I had the honor of working alongside the National Security Agency (NSA) and Naval Intelligence Operations Command, contributing to critical missions that supported national and global security objectives. I medically retired from the Navy in 2021, closing a significant chapter of service filled with purpose, growth, and dedication to mission success. My military experience continues to shape my professional values and commitment to excellence in every endeavor.

Deployments and/or Activations:
During my time in the Navy, I was forward deployed aboard several guided missile destroyers, including the USS Barry (DDG-52), USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG-54), and USS Benfold (DDG-65). I spent 12 months deployed on the USS Barry, operating throughout the South China Sea and supporting critical maritime operations. I later completed a 5-month deployment aboard the USS Curtis Wilbur, further enhancing my experience in forward-deployed naval missions. While stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, I also participated in missile defense training aboard the USS Benfold, supporting Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) operations and joint readiness exercises with allied forces. Through these deployments, I had the opportunity to travel to China, South Korea, Guam, Japan, and the Philippines, contributing to regional security and strengthening partnerships across the Indo-Pacific region.

Favorite Military Memory:
One of my favorite memories from my time in the Navy was spending Christmas in Japan. Being far from home during the holidays was challenging, but celebrating with my shipmates and immersing myself in Japanese culture made it truly special. While stationed in Yokosuka, I took a trip to Tokyo and joined a real-life Mario Kart race through the streets of Shibuya—dressed as Princess Peach! Racing through the city in costume, surrounded by neon lights, bustling crowds, and laughter, felt like stepping straight into a video game. That day perfectly captured the fun and adventure of living overseas and remains one of my most joyful and unforgettable experiences from my deployment.

Current Degree Plans & Academic Goals:
I am currently pursuing my Master of Business Administration with a concentration in International Business, building on my passion for global markets, leadership, and strategic decision-making. My academic focus is on understanding how businesses operate across international borders and how legal frameworks shape global commerce. After completing my MBA, I plan to attend a top-14 law school to earn my Juris Doctor (JD) and pursue a career in corporate law. My ultimate goal is to combine my business background and legal expertise to advise multinational organizations, navigate complex international regulations, and contribute to ethical and sustainable business practices on a global scale.
